It's difficult to show the scale of the glacier and icebergs in Ilulissat, Greenland so I wanted to take this photo with some of the local seagulls in to give some scale. A loud crack from a nearby piece of falling ice startled a large number of birds resting on a nearby ledge into flight, which gave me the moment I was waiting for. The pink skies and warm tones from the midnight sun add to the image, highlighting the textures in the huge wall of ice.
