Description

We had been following an Elephant family known as the IAC group on the lakebed, when one of the matriarchs moved off with two of her younger calves in tow. I waited patiently as they were looking at me as I was observing them. They gradually huddled closer together protecting the youngest calf & I love how the older calf rested his truck on the younger one in a reassuring gesture. It was a peaceful & emotional moment in the company of these magnificent animals. A true moment of mutual connection.
