This image was taken as part of a fashion shoot for local designer Daisy Jane Dunne withe her friend Lucy Busby modelling for the shoot. The clothes she had designed used various geometric patterned fabrics and so I wanted to create an unusual background that echoed these shapes in some way. So we made the background by using lots of spare red lenses from old alarm boxes, all glued onto clear perspex sheets to allow light to pass through from behind, and then attached these to some stands behind the model. The main lighting was a flash aimed at the white wall behind the red lenses to create a backlit effect, and a reflector was used to bounce some of this light back onto the front of the model. settings - f/5.6, 1/160, iso 400.
