I shot this for my third-year Commercial Photography final major project at the Arts University Bournemouth, which I ended up receiving a first-class BA Honors for. It's an image from my series titled 'Fish Out Of Water' which encourages people to steer away from micro trends and to embrace their true, quirky selves. Micro trends are incredibly harmful to the environment so I decided to shoot this at a vegetable farm just outside of Bournemouth to reinforce the importance of sustainable agriculture. This is important because many of our clothes originate from vegetables, plants or soil, and when done correctly, can have extremely positive effects on the planet. The fashion industry is one of the harshest for the environment, but by shedding light on this issue and inspiring people to think more about where their clothes come from/the impact their spending habits have, I hope to motivate people to change. In terms of how I styled this project, I used a combination of purchasing everything second-hand, using clothing I already had, as well as working with the sustainable clothing company 8 Ball Custom Vintage. I shot this with the Sony A7 MKIV camera on F/7.1, shutter 1/500 and ISO 125.
