Birdlife
Bass Rock. North Sea.
Canon 1Dxiii & Canon 17-40mm f4
We had landed by boat with the warden of Bass Rock in a small craft just as dawn was breaking. The noise of the largest gannetry in the Northern hemisphere was deafening, and as we made our way up to the top I took the chance to capture this breeding pair of birds in their natural habitat. I chose quite a small aperture of f9 to keep the lighthouse and the birds in the background sharp enough to give clear context for the two gannets. 1/200sec. f9. iso100.
