Architecture
Amsterdam, Netherlands

25mm | F5.6 | 0.6 sec | ISO 400 For this photograph, I wanted to capture the beauty of Amsterdam’s architecture and sought to illustrate how the leaning houses of Damrak come alive as night falls. To achieve this, I positioned myself between two tour boats to create leading lines that draw the viewer’s eye to the illuminated facades. Taking a long exposure of this scene produces a smoother reflection of these structures in the canal, thereby highlighting the serene, warm charm of Amsterdam in December. The vibrant colours evoke the atmosphere of the city during this period, placing its unique architecture in the spotlight.
