Wedding
Ribble Valley, Lancashire
Canon 5d mark iv
The moment the snow fell on the old Cromwell Bridge. It was a Winter wedding in December 2022 and the snow started falling at one of my local wedding venues, Hobbit Hill. I usually photograph a lot on this particular bridge in the Ribble Valley during the summer, but I suggested we try a snow photo after the ceremony. The bridge itself is an old packhorse bridge and played a part in the Civil War of the 1600s at the Battle of Preston. Oliver Cromwell and approximately 8,600 men crossed the small bridge on the way to battle. So, it has a wonderful bit of history. When we had just arrived at the bridge the snow had stopped and we thought, well its ok, there is a lovely dusting on the ground, let's give it a go. However, once we were situated and I had instructed the couple with their pose, the snow started falling in abundance and so rushed over to the parallel bridge to get set up. It was all simply magical, an absolutely perfect Winter wedding moment, that I was so very pleased with. Shot with Canon 5d Mark iv, with zoom lens at 4.5f.
