Ben Nevis, Scotland
Panasonic lumix GX1
Winter BASE jump on Ben Nevis, Britain's highest mountain, above Number Three gully. Braving minus 18 degrees temperatures the successful event was captured using a Panasonic Lumix GX1 with prime 25mm lens. ISO - 200, shutter 1/1000, f/7.1. The intention was to show how the dramatic landscape of Ben Nevis affords spectacular feats such as BASE jumping, and which rely on high skill levels and coordinated team effort. And a degree of sufferance for the art, requiring a 12 hour day in significant cold conditions! This was a first as well, with the exit never having been jumped before, thereby highlighting the risks involved in pioneering activities like this.
