Description

Although this shot looks like a staged portrait, it was actually an opportunistic image. I had picked this spot out to do some silhouettes of my friend and was busy taking some test exposures when this man and his dog walked into the scene. I fired a few exposures which failed due to their movement but this one image out of them all worked. The man stopped walking and his dog stopped to gaze at the stars and his dog stopped to gaze at his owner. In hindsight I would have loved to ask him to pose properly for an image. The image would be even sharper showing no movement at all and I could place them perfectly in the scene. However I do actually prefer that this is a real moment captured between a man and his best friend.
