Description

Gelada monkeys live high up in the Ethiopian highlands of the Simien Mountains National Park and are typically known for their characteristic red chest, giving them the nickname 'Bleeding Heart Monkeys'. Anticipating where the troop was moving to, I sat in the grass underneath the shade of a small patch of trees. To my luck, the troop began moving towards me into this opening, where this fully grown male emerged at the head of the troop, looking about to assess where to lead everyone next.
