Pentax KX - on 35mm film - Kodak 400
Driving for many hours and many miles in the pitch black from Belgium to the Arctic Circle, I came around a corner to be faced with this lightbulb vista out of the darkness. Shot on 35mm film on my trusty Pentax I didn’t have time to get out my tripod as the cold was too much and the endless driving had almost reduced me to delirium. I just held my breath and kept very still to try and avoid any camera shake. This was shot somewhere on the Finnish border during the polar night in December. It reminds me of hope in a sea of darkness. That is why I chose the charity Shelter because they represent switching on the light when hope and help isn’t always visible.
