Platinum Jubilee Pageant
Canon 5DIII & Sigma 14-24 f2.8
I was selected alongside several other dancers to represent the 80s in the parade for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee Pageant. So in full 80s breakdance attire and with my Canon 5DIII pretending to be an EOS 650 thanks to an original 1980s 300EZ Flash on top of it, we danced through the streets on our way to Buckingham Palace. The challenge here was spotting the opportunity, getting the settings dialed in and capturing the exact moment, all while moving. Being sandwiched between two buses as part of the parade, everything was a once in a lifetime shot. I've always shot dance with a fast shutter, focusing on snapping the exact point I want, rather than spraying and praying. My background in dance and relationship with the dancers definitely helps in that regard.
