Description

A single reef manta ray cruises over dramatic spur and groove coral reef structures in the Maldives. This photo was taken during a research expedition looking for manta rays in Raa Atoll in the Maldives. The country is home to the largest population of this enigmatic species but globally they are considered vulnerable to extinction.
