Description

Rare winter mornings in Dubai. Mornings photographers dream of. Mornings that are very close to my heart. This marked the start of a new life. I had just relocated to Dubai. Starting a new career, away from everything and everyone I knew. I heard about the rare possibility of fog during Dubai's winters. Having arrived in January, I set my alarms every morning at 4am, hoping I would wake up to no visibility outside my room. Truth be told, on a cold morning in early February I was greeted by a sea of clouds engulfing the city. I had managed to get rooftop access to some skyscrapers around the city and headed out straight away. Climbing to the top floors, I was subject to one of the most incredible views I had ever seen. The worlds tallest buildings floating in a sea of clouds. Protruding out from the fog as if the heavens had opened up to me and Dubai. A surreal sight. One I will never forget. I knew then this was a special experience and I did my best to capture it in a way that would do it justice, conveying the same dream-like feelings I was having. I was honestly blown away with what I witnessed. I was honoured to have such a unique, reflective and profound experience during the early stages of my new life in Dubai. This image is a 3 shot bracketed image, shot at ISO 100, F5.6 on the Mavic 2 Pro. Launched from a rooftop far above the fog line. I work in Dubai as a qualified commercial drone pilot, all my images are taken with the correct permissions and permits.
