Description

Heritage railways in the English countryside are usually enjoyed by families getting together on weekend afternoons. No lone photographer with a bulky backpack can escape the curiosity of a child here. Many interested little faces peek out from around the carriage as I search for sceneries along the route, but one stands out in the middle of the aisle, perhaps shyly volunteering to pose. Soft wooden tones and mild shadows surrounding her look into the camera create an unexpected moment of connection that transcends the sense of place.
