A pair of gannets lean into each other with one carefully looking after the other one as they preen. The female on the right showing signs of recovering from bird flu, with black specs in the iris. It was both devasting and a moment of joy to see the next generation showing signs of being able to recover from bird flu; but also seeing with my own eyes the numbers were low on the cliffs for breeding season. I am hoping through my photographs of gannets we bring attention to the plight of our sea birds
