While snorkeling and free diving on a shallow reef, I came across a tightly grouped school of excitable Sergeant Major fish just beneath the surface. Using a combination of slow shutter speed and rear curtain flash I was able to capture the movement of the school of fish, freezing the motion at the end of the exposure. The slow shutter speed also created a “paint brush” effect to the aqua-green water by capturing the motion of the surface ripples. 1/6th, f/25, ISO 50.
