Landscape
Lofoten Islands, Norway
Canon 5Diii - 100-400mm
After a day in Lofoten mountain cloud the mist starts to break from the south revealing the two southernmost islands in the archipelago Værøy and Mosken. This was shot at 400mm and I feel that is an unlikely focal length for a landscape category but I love the image. I'm drawn by the leading line, the absolute darkness in the foreground and that contrasting snow and ultimately to the sunshine on the steep granite slabs of rock. I also love how those long days in poor mountain weather sometimes yield an unparalleled beauty that wouldn't be seen without enduring some discomfort.
