In Iceland, the winter period, from the beginning of November to the end of March, is the season of natural ice caves. The picture was taken in the impressive blue cave in the Vatnajökull glacier. The glossy surface with surreal unusual formations in the ice, peculiar patterns, and even striating colors in the frozen cave walls makes the glacier cave a fantastic place to photograph. The cave is one of the most epic locations where I was able to capture the immense beauty. Arched walls resembling a stunning crystal blue dome and a formation into ice create amazing structures. Ultra-wide angle lens allowed showing all the interesting details on the ceiling, walls, and floor of an ice cave into the frame. Although the photo has a limited amount of color, blue, white, and black, translucent blue ice is mesmerizing.
