Description

A detail of one of the lava rocks at a geothermal area near near Grindavík, Iceland. The milky colour of the water in this lake is provided by the high silica content and plays along perfectly to isolate the subject. Almost a minute long exposure was used to smoothen up the water surface and a shooting position very close to the water helped to catch a distinguishable reflection of the clouds in the sky to further contribute to providing a sense of heavenly calm in this picture.
