Description

Standing at 18.1 hands tall, shire horse, George, from Gentle Giants Shire Horses, Cardigan, Pembrokeshire, gets some new shoes ahead of Christmas. I was keen to capture the atmospheric smoke that comes off the hot shoe as the farrier aligns the shoe on the hoof of the horse. This took several attempts to get right as I couldn't stage the action taking place. Camera Settings: ISO 1250 f/8 1/160s
