Water Life
The Okavango Delta in Botswana
Canon 7d MII with a 70-200mm MII 2.8
I have seen many whales breach, but I had no idea that a hippo was capable that too. Until this day, while floating on a small wildlife-viewing skiff in the Okavango Delta, this hippo 'breached' several times, jumping out of the water and crashing back down causing quite the ripple. Perhaps in an attempt to show us how big he was. Thankfully, the Hippo performed this for me 3 or 4 times, I just had to compose the shot and hope I could snap it just at the right moment. The fast shutter of the 7DMII helped with that. Shot at 1/1600 sec at f/2.8 ISO 640.
