While walking in the woods in East Sussex I came across this group of tiny mushrooms on a fallen tree - forming a beautiful garden for the small scale figure exploring it. Using the architectural model figures of my architectural background gives me the chance to explore the world from a different and sometimes surprisingly new perspective. Using a mobile phone camera lets me get in really close and allows me to play with a very low and close perspective even in tight spots. The scene is completely as found and created out and about, so I constantly walk around looking for small details as much as wider views. I have done this series for a while, but this again proved a useful project in lockdown, when the daily walk still gave me plenty of opportunities for some creative work - so important in the difficult world we find ourselves in at the moment.
