These stunning Flower Bees have been regulars in my garden during the warm weather and I'd spent a bit of time attempting to photograph them in flight as they were constantly on the move and never settled down. I had a look around the garden on a dull afternoon and couldn't believe my luck when I found one snoozing right on the tip of a leaf, in the most photogenic position I could have hoped for. I took plenty of photos knowing that this wasn't likely to be something I would see again. Given that the bee was oblivious to my presence, I was able to move a flower behind it to brighten up what would have otherwise been a rather drab background. Once the temperature increased and the sun came back out, the bee woke up and flew off. ISO-100 F/16 1/250th second External flash 1/16 power 5 image focus stack
