My local stretch of coastline has numerous small caves, most of which I have explored. These caves are flanked by steep, ancient woodland dropping down to the shore, and these woods are home to numerous species - including pine martens. After placing a trail camera at one of the cave entrances, I became aware that one particular pine marten was visiting the cave, possibly to hunt the field mice and bank voles which are found in large numbers around the cave entrance. I placed a DSLR camera trap in the cave for around 3 months, and eventually came away with this image.
