During the dry season elephant herds make their way to the water holes during the late afternoon. You can see up to 50 elephants at any one time and with the large numbers comes a lot of interaction between the different herds. The dust the elephants kick up and with the light passing through the elephants it offers great opportunity to capture the elephants drinking backlit. This one calf was struggling to make his way to the water and was skirting his way round the herb. He passed an opening in the herd that allowed the light to shine through and presented the perfect backlit silhouette of him.
