Farmfest, Bruton
Nikon D750 + Nikon 70-200mm 2.8
I was covering Farmfest in Bruton for a Bristol based music magazine to catch this. Strolling around the site on a sunny afternoon capturing people relaxing and enjoying themselves at this little festival in Somerset. I really love that any visible faces in the shot are concealed by candy - forcing you to imagine the face on the little girl about to embark on the wonderful task of tackling her candy floss. Once you take your focus to the rear of the shot you can tell by the slumped shoulders of the trader that the two characters with hidden faces are likely to have opposing outlooks at that moment in time. Overall this shot makes me feel happy - it really makes me think about times when I was young and excited for candyfloss without a care in the world. The licky lips printed on the slushie machine add a nice touch of humour to the shot. Settings: 1/640 / f11 / ISO 320 @125mm - processed in Capture One. Many thanks, Will
