Description

I put together the idea for this photoshoot during lockdown, I then art directed and shot this fashion series just after everything eased off the first time. I hand picked my creative team and upon completion pitched the fashion story to online magazines. Entitled Virago (meaning “Woman”) and telling the story of a noblewoman who’s never afraid to jump into the fray – whether it’s a sword fight or dancing after a feast – the editorial is dedicated to all the rebel women throughout history who broke boundaries and showed that no-one should be limited by gender roles. The styling includes corsets, tights, recycled foil blankets dresses. everything to mimic armour and protective clothing from throughout the ages. A woman who demonstrates exemplary and heroic qualities. In unison, Strength is the capacity of a being or substance to withstand great force or pressure. something we can all relate to in our current climate.
