Description

Prior to shooting European Gay Ski Week in Les Arcs I was asked if I could produce an image of all the drag queens (that provided the evenings entertainment) together somewhere on the mountain. Before travelling to France I had the idea of using coloured flares to represent the colours of the pride flag. I was confident that by using the flares to create a powerful and colourful aesthetic I could represent the pride and freedom of the festival in a single image. Once we were at the location it didn't actually take too long to make the image, getting four drag queens safely up the mountain in heels on the other hand was more of a challenge.
