Dartmoor
Canon EOS 80D w/ Canon EF 24-70mm f4 L IS USM
This image was taken at Nuns Cross Farm on Dartmoor, Devon. This was a day I experienced the worst weather conditions I had endured on Dartmoor. I walked in incredibly harsh wind and rain to arrive at this spot. Upon arrival, I painstakingly set up my tripod and set my expected camera settings on my Canon EOS 80D before getting it out of my bag, to decrease my chances of getting rain drops on my lens and rendering a shot unusable. Before leaving, I questioned whether I was happy with my current set of images; however, for good measure I decided to walk around to the other side of the house to quickly take another shot. I decided this time to not use my tripod as the weather was only getting worse. I set my aperture to the highest my lens would go (f4) to allow me to achieve a very fast shutter speed of 1/640 at 24mm as the wind speeds were extremely harsh, causing my hands and camera to shake. The fog and dark conditions add more horror to this bordered up, abandoned house and completed the scene.
