Description

When I took this image I had not done many weddings. I was primarily shooting landscapes at the time so knew of several spectacular locations close to the venue. I figured that the ten minute drive to the top of Honister pass would be well worth it for a couples shoot. On the morning of the wedding Nicole announced that her Dad was a professional wedding photographer, not the ideal thing for a relative novice to hear at that stage in proceedings! Later on, the evening was fast approaching and I knew the light would be fading fast. Trying to explain this as diplomatically as I could to Nicole and Matt was proving tricky. Luckily Nicole's Dad was eavesdropping on our every word and stepped in at this point, saying that they should accompany me straight away. At the top of the pass I got them into position and clicked the shutter capturing this image. It was the only decent one I got, within seconds the light had disappeared. I was really grateful to Nicole's Dad, to this day it's still one of my favorite wedding images and I'm glad it hangs in pride of place on their wall.
