Water life
Jardines de la Reina, Cuba
Canon 5DSr, 14-24 wide angle lens, Nauticam underwater housing
The Queen's Gardens are a vast archipelago of 250 coral islands, islets and a large mangrove labyrinth in the southern part of Cuba. This protected marine sanctuary is home to large numbers of saltwater crocodiles, a creature I'd wanted to photograph for many years. In total I was in the water for around an hour with this one & I can truly say I never relaxed for a moment - but it was definitely worth it. This image stood out to me because it best seems to capture the character of the crocodile as I felt it on the day - patiently watching my every move while proudly displaying his excellent set of teeth!
