Canon EOS 5D Mk III. Canon EF F4.L 24-105mm.
Taken at Worthing Pier on a sunny January day, the strong winter sun towards sunset, created this long silhouette of a mother pushing her baby in a pram. Also shown are the silhouette of the Pier railing and lamppost. The mother is clearly looking at her phone and the possibilities of what she is doing with her mobile intrigue me, surfing the web, texting a friend, getting ready to make a call or taking a photo of her baby to proudly post on social media. Part of the interest of the image is we will never know and can choose to pick our preferred option, mother obsessed with phone or taking snaps to last a lifetime, I like the thought of the second. The strong orange tone is from the warmth of the setting sun against a cream wall at the end of the pier. This was one occasion when I took only one camera and lens, Canon EOS5D MkIII and EF F4.L 24-105mm, rather than all my kit. Sometimes I enjoy keeping it simple as you have to think of different ways to look at things and how to shoot as you cannot rely on swapping lenses etc. ISO 320. 105MM Focal Length 1/320th F11 Aperture Priority with Pattern Metering.
