Leica M10 with 35mm lens
This photograph was made in The Bear Pit, a notorious sunken pedestrianised area within the middle of a busy inner-city roundabout. I particularly enjoyed the way this lad was framed between the tower blocks that made up the skyline as he practiced trust-falls from the roof of a disused building. I make candid photographs of people in public spaces using a Leica M10 with 35mm lens. Documenting our public areas in this way allows me to capture the humour, mundanity, beauty and inelegance of daily life in our urban environment. My photographs are not set up, posed or directed. This is life, as it happens.
