Description

Pastor Seburikoko Alberta and his family were abducted in January 2018 by Maimai rebels in DRC. They later demanded 5 million USD 14000 for their release. The pastor managed to escape from the rebels leaving his family behind. He walked for 4 days through the jungle to reach the Ugandan border where this image was taken. Uganda hosts the largest number of refugees from the DRC- over 236,500 people. This image was shot whilst on assignment for Save the Children.
