Description

Whilst many cats may consider themselves accomplished chess players, my small tabby Candy is widely considered as the best of her generation, at least in the East Anglian region. Here she plays an exhibition match, which we see a few moves in as Door Stop Cat plays the French Defence against Candy's Queen's pawn opening move. The game was drawn, but Candy went on to win the match 3-1. It was a pleasure to buy a lovely Staunton chess set for the event, as I used to be a keen player myself. With the use of a remote foot switch shutter release I was able to enjoy watching the game at close quarters... 1/250 sec at f/11, ISO 64
