The mystical Motukiekie Beach, New Zealand, imaged shortly after sunset on Christmas Eve 2017. It was planned well in advance to be here when the tide was low at sunset, the conditions were not gentle, however this gave a nice mood and atmosphere with waves crashing against the volcanic rocks. Said rocks created a level plateau with channels running through that funnel the racing water from waves breaking further out. Several different compositions were taken as the Sun descended below the horizon, one of which was shortlisted in last year's competition (hence redux in the title here). At that time this image had not been processed, however I saw potential there and with a substantial crop I like the way that the different elements line up in the frame. Exposure blend of two bracketed images, 48mm, f8, ISO 100, 1.3s and 10s.
