Below railway bridge over canal adjacent to River Lea south of Stratford, London
Lumix DMC-G80M
I encountered this scene early on an autumn morning when the sun was at just the right position and elevation, on a day with minimal wind and wildlife disturbance to the surface of the canal water and when little duck weed was present. As I waited while the sun rose, the pattern and angle of the shafts of sunlight and their reflections slowly developed. The twin shafts of sunlight shine above and below a small service bridge adjacent to the railway bridge where this photograph was taken. The bridge construction causes the main shaft's slight chevron shape (1/250 sec, f 5.0)
