Description

Whilst exploring Quito, Ecuador I was fascinated with the plant life which managed to grown at this high altitude. However it were the cactuses with caught my eye. This cactus was the size of a football but it seemed to create its own landscape when looked at close up. I wanted to enhance this impression of a landscape so my photographing it as close as possible, I removed any external context to create a different landscape for the audience to encounter. (Taken at 1/100 sec, f/2.8, ISO 100).
