Antelope Canyon
Canon 5DS, Irix 15mm F2.4 Blackstone Wide Angle Lens and a tripod
Looking up in a slot canyon showing how the sandstone walls seemingly flow like waves in Lower Antelope Canyon, Arizona, USA. This was my 3 trip to Antelope Canyon, but my first time in the lower section. It was December 18th 2017 around 1:30 p.m. and the wrong time of the year for the signature beams of light streaming down from the sky so I focused upward trying to capture the beautiful light reflecting off of the canyon walls. This image was taken with a Canon 5DS, an Irix 15mm F2.4 Blackstone Wide Angle Lens at f11 for maximum depth of feel and ISO400 to keep my shutter speed down and using a tripod. The end picture is made up of 7 images taken 1 stop apart then HDR merged in Lightroom to get the maximum range out of the raw files. I focused midway up the canyon walls which were only lit by natural light from the relatively clear sky above. I made some basic adjustments in Lightroom with the lights, shadows, contrast, etc., and then used Photoshop to focus on specific areas of luminosity to for dodging and burning then finally cropped the image for the final look.
