Description

This is an image of Whiteford Point Lighthouse in South Wales. Due to the lighthouse being situated off the coast, it is only accessible at low tides making a drone an ideal tool for this shot. As the sun sets, a few birds fly out to the lighthouse to roost for the night. I felt the fading sun behind the lighthouse complimented the disused, feel of the no-longer-lit lighthouse nicely, while the silhouette of the birds bring the image to life. Shot with a DJI Phantom 3 Professional, I set at 1/400th of a second to keep the sunlight glimmering on the sea surface sharp. ISO100, and the lens has a fixed aperture of f/2.8
