Aynhoe Park is a very special and unique wedding venue. Set in the heart of rural Northamptonshire, the Grade I listed 17th-century country house hosts an incredible collection of artefacts from around the world (including a taxidermy giraffe as seen here). I had set up my Yongnuo speedlites around an hour before the first dance - before the guests had entered. At that time there was still plenty of natural light in the orangery but with some creative imagination I knew that as things got darker outside, and if I gave my off camera flashes enough power I would would be able to create a stunning effect, drawing focus (using light) onto the couple. As Chloe & Joe took to the dance floor they waltzed to a choreographed routine, I waited patiently for the moments that I thought would work best, and this twist happened. The elements lined up and the picture was taken. My camera was set to f/5.6 with a shutter speed of 1/160 (combined with a Canon 24mm) I knew this would freeze the action just how I had imagined it.
